Aftermarket Car Parts

Fastlane Stealth Challenger

This is definitely one of the coolest modern muscle cars I have seen in the past decade. Fastlane is the aftermarket car parts shop that has built it. Fastlane calls it their Stealth Challenger, featuring a wide body kit that allows a 12.5 inch wide wheel in back wrapped in 315 Nitto rubber. The muscle car features a full suspension upgrade, along with coil covers, and a Kenne Bell 2.6 supercharger. To give the Challenger a more muscular sound Fastlane has changed the stock exhaust to American Racing Headers with a Magnaflow catback exhaust. Overall the car not only handles good, but puts down 630 horsepower as well. I've never seen rims that are so deep dish before, front and back that is very wild. This is what defines a muscle car, the Stealth Dodge Challenger is bitchin!

SRT-8 Challenger to Receive more Horsepower

Word on the street is the future SRT-8 Dodge Challenger may get a boost in horsepower. A total of 55 horsepower will be added, equal to 580 horsepower and 460 foot pounds of torque to the rear wheels. There's also a rumor that the Dodge Challenger will also be sporting a 8 speed transmission to go along with the extra horsepower. Unfortunately though, the Challenger RT models will not be getting more horsepower. SE Challenger models will get 40 more horsepower and 20 more ft-lbs of torque with the new Pentastar V6.

Ford Thunderbird 55th Anniversary

To celebrate the 55th anniversary of the Ford Thunderbird, owners will be getting together for a car show in Dearborn Michigan. Back in the day the Ford Thunderbird was the 1955 Corvette's competitor, over 4.2 million Thunderbird were sold. Around 300 classic Ford Thunderbirds showed up for the Dearborn gathering, below are some beautiful pictures of the classic cars. My favorite shot is of the all white paint job of the Ford Thunderbird.

GM Releasing new Brand for China called Baojun

General Motors is releasing a new brand in China called Baojun. Baojun will be a partnership with SAIC-GM-Wuling who will build and sell the vehicles. Some say this isn't a good idea since GM is going through hard times. While others say it is a good idea, it will help expand the company and improve their financial situation. The new Baojun name will be used to market small, inexpensive cars.

2011 AC Roadster by ICONIC Motors

This is ICONIC Motors version of the AC Cobra, they have dubbed it the AC Roadster. Back in 2008 we got the concept version, now we have heard that ICONIC Motors will put the car up fro sale in 2011. To make the car more official, they have partnered up with AC Cars so they can use the AC in the car's name. The cars main feature is the awesome looks, but under the hood is the sweet spot. Featuring a 800 horsepower 6.9 liter V8. The AC Roadster shows us what aftermarket is being about, power and style! This AC Roadster vehicle definitely gives us both of those elements.

2011 Chevy Volt Pricing

GM has finally announced the pricing on the 2011 Chevy Volt. One of the most anticipated cars of the decade, the car features both an electric motor and gas motor. But the car might not be as successful as GM thought it might be due to pricing. The Chevy Volt goes for $41,000 at a base price before tax. But after federal tax incentives the Volt's price will drop to $33,500. That's the pricing that doesn't disappoint me, it's the $20,000 Chevy dealerships plan to tack on!

Mercury Messenger Concept for Sale at RM Auctions

Currently up for sale at RM auctions is the 2003 Mercury Messenger Concept. The concept was first introduced at the 2003 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Needless to say, the concept car never went into production. The car will go on sale on August 13 and 14, the money will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. It would be nice to see the new Mustang 5.0 liter V8 underneath the hood.

Thieves Target Cadillac Escalade

If you're looking to buy a Cadillac Escalade, you might want to be concerned with the fact that it's one of the top cars thieves target for theft. The Cadillac Escalade took top honors this year with $146 in theft loss payments per insured vehicle, per year. On average, insurance companies pay out around $11,934 per theft claim when it comes to the Escalade with 10.8 of the SUVs stolen per 1,000 vehicles. I think it's mainly due to the flashiness of the SUV and how most crooks think rich people own them. Don't let this discourage you from buying a Cadillac Escalade, just research the ways you can improve the security of the car.

2011 Chevy Cruze Sedan gets better Fuel Economy

If you're looking for a subcompact car that gets great fuel economy, checkout the 2011 Chevy Cruze. The car offers the passenger and luggage space of a midsize sedan. The EPA highway fuel economy ratings are up to 40 miles per gallon.

But in order to sell, Chevy needs to market the vehicle. When automotive enthusiasts think of good gas mileage, they think of cars like the Honda Civic, Hyundai Elantra and Toyota Corolla. Chevy plans to place the Cruze within several TV programs, maybe this will help spread the Chevy Cruze word across the streets.
