Michael Stoschek Interpretation of Lancia Stratos

Spy photos have been released of Michael Stoschek's own interpretation of the legendary car called the Lancia Stratos. Italian design house Pininfarina did the prototype, which Stoschek originally had done for his personal use. Auto week's writers are expecting a limited production run. If we're lucky 25 of these exotic super cars will be built. So far I've only got a picture of the rear end, that's enough to tell my brain I love it. The sleek design, rear lights, and custom wheels look great on the Lancia Stratos. I wonder what the Stratos will be priced at.

Live Woodward Dream Cruise Webcam

If you're like me and have been pissed about the Woodward Dream Cruise being rained out, no problem! You don't have to get your car wet, just watch the Keller Williams Dream Cruise webcam. It's kind of high up, but you get to see all the cool muscle cars that way. It would be really cool if it was high definition so you could zoom in. It's a bummer that the Dream Cruise is going to be rained out for the whole day of Saturday. If you missed out, check back on my blog later to see more pictures of the 2010 Woodward Dream Cruise.

Cars Hacked through TPMS Systems

A group of researchers from Rutgers University just disclosed the fact that vehicles can be hacked remotely, via wireless. The tire pressure monitoring is basically where they get in because it's wireless, since 2008 every car has required a tire pressure monitoring system, just imagine how many people are vulnerable right now. Vehicles are turning into rolling networks with their wireless systems, to me that's not good. I remember a few years ago saying "I don't like where the future is headed with cars." This article just backs up my statement tremendously! They might become 100% green one day, but I remember the days when anyone could work on a carbureted engine and save a ton of money. Now if you want to work on a fuel injected engine, you better have a computer and some special tools.

By the way, I just thought of this. I know a lot of the new cars are using the drive-by-wire system on their throttle body, if hackers can get into car computer, I'm sure they can mess with your throttle since it's hooked up to your computer electronically now. Imagine that, death by hacker!

James May does Top Speed Test with the Bugatti Veyron

In this sweet episode of Top Gear, James May does a top speed test with the Bugatti Veyron exotic car. I love the nickname James May gives the car, "Vlad the Impaler." That name perfectly defines the Bugatti Veyron, every car that tries to race the Veyron will be impaled. The track James May races the Veyron on is a 5 1/2 mile long stretch, you can't even see the end because it follows the curvature of the earth. It makes me wonder though, since the Bugatti Veyron can go over 200mph won't he reach the end a little to quickly. I just hope the Bugatti Veyron has good brakes! When James may reaches the 200mph mark, he claims the whole world looks like a total blur, that would scare the living day lights out of me. The top speed James May achieves is 253 miles per hour, that's so impressive. I'd be worried about an animal stepping out on the track ya know?

George Blankenship lands Job at Tesla Motors

This may give you a hint right here that Tesla Motors might go big. After a long hardship with safety specs on their roadster, they have been trying different ways to make sure they get their next electric car right. You might of heard about their partnership with Toyota, new news have come along saying that they just hired George Blankenship. You might know him, he formerly wored for Apple as their VP of Design and Store Development. You see how well Apple is doing, this might really give Tesla that extra boost they are looking for.

Ford’s new 5.0L V8 Engine gets a Price Tag

For $7,000 you can get your hands on Ford's new 5.0L V8 engine that's making 412 horsepower and 490 foot pounds of torque. It would be really cool to see one of these engines dropped in a fox body Mustang. Or maybe even in a SN-95, the engine that should of been dropped in the SN-95 Mustang, not that wimpy 4.6L engine. I think that price tag maybe a bit high though, I've seen forged engine go for a lot less than that.

2009 BMW Vision EfficientDynamics Concept

Awesome news from BMW, a production sports car based on last year's BMW concept will reportedly debut at the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show. If it looks anything like the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics concept, I'm sure it will be an immediate hit! There's no words to explain it, I absolutely love the concept! The demonic headlights are what lured me in, along with the smooth curves of the concept car. Coming from a reliable source, it's said that the M variant of the car will use a 450 horsepower twin turbo inline six. The production sports car will come to the market by 2013.

Spy Photos of the Ferrari 612

Spy photos have surfaced on the mystery Ferrari, the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti. From the looks of it the Ferrari is sporting new aerodynamic head lights and unique air dam. Other than that the car is very indecipherable with all the metal clad on it. Knowing Ferrari it will be very cool looking!

Grampa building his own Ariel Atom Clone

The Ariel Atom is one amazing piece of machinery, it's amazing a 72 year old person such as Bert Campbell of Southgate Michigan has took upon himself to make a clone of the magical car. Bert is one die hard automotive enthusiast to take this project on, at the age of 72 and with a artificial hip. Bert's first move is to take on the chassis, so far he has modified the sides to make them lower and to compensate for the loss of structure, he added a roll cage on top. Campbell bought the steel tubing at swap meet for about $20 and got the front control arms from another hobbyist in return for some help fixing a lathe. Campbell built his own tubing bender and roller to shape the steel and has done all the fabrication in his girlfriend's garage. Although he has several engines available, Campbell plans to install an 1100cc Yamaha motorcycle engine. I have never heard of such a die hard auto enthusiast before.
