Custom Garage Paint Booths Bad Idea

I know a lot of you automotive enthusiasts think you can create your own paint booths for your garage, but let me tell you now why it's a bad idea. Well for one thing, it's not legal since your custom paint booth will not meet NFPA 33 And OSHA 1910 guidelines. Second, well you could possibly blow yourself up, along with your family. If you don't aerate your custom paint booth right, the fumes from the paint could possibly cause an explosion. Makes you rethink about creating your own paint booth right?

Well it doesn't stop there, you're going to need high efficiency filters if you plan on keep dust particles from creating blotches in your paint. See how much is involved with doing professional car paint jobs. That's why you're better off leaving it to the pros and having a professional shop repainting your muscle car.

I'm still thinking about buying my own paint booth for my barn, but it might be more trouble than it's worth. It takes up a ton of room and I'm probably only going to be painting two cars over a period of twenty years. If you take care of a paint job, it can basically last a lifetime. I'm going to do some research and see if I can get a good paint job done for around $3k.
